Ever since the Duchess of Cambridge, then Kate Middleton, married Prince William in April 2011, she’s been inspiring our wardrobe choices and introducing us to new brands.

From maternity label to Seraphine to Goat, Beulah London and ISSA, the 37-year-old royal has put numerous labels on the sartorial map over the last eight years.

Today, the 37-year-old stepped out in another smaller brand for an event at Peterley Manor Farm in Great Missenden.

The event marked the Duchess’ new patronage: Royal Patron of Family Action. The Queen passed the patronage on to the Duchess, having held the role for over 65 years herself.

The 150-year-old organisation helps families in difficulty by giving them practical help and support.

For the occasion, Kate dressed down in a casual, and fairly festive, ensemble: dark wash jeans, a red Perfect Moment puffer jacket (that she’s worn previously), a green jumper and sensible boots by Berghaus Limited, an outdoor clothing and equipment manufacturer based in Sunderland.

Kate opted to wear the Women’s Supalite II Goretex Boots in chocolate brown. They cost £155 and available in sizes 4 to 8.

According to the product description, the ankle boots are breathable, durable and feature a good grip - qualities all of us want in walking boots.

They’re fairly lightweight, too. Weighing less than a kilo, they won’t slow you down and also won’t weigh down your luggage if you need to take them on your travels.

When it comes to footwear, the Duchess might be best known most for her nude, L.K.Bennett heels. But, she’s a big fan of boots, too.

The royal owns pairs from Penelope Chilvers, Stuart Weitzman, Prada, Dune, See by Chloe and French label Le Chameau.

Hiking boots have been a huge trend this year. Countless celebrities have been papped wearing styles by Tod’s, Off-White, British label Grenson (we’re looking at you, Holly Willoughby) and more. Kate Moss even modelled a pair on the Louis Vuitton catwalk.

The Duchess first worked the trend herself - in a gorgeous, suede pair by French label See by Chloé - while visiting Keswick with William in June.

Kate’s last engagement was last night, when she supported the Queen and other key members of the Royal Family at a NATO engagement at Buckingham Palace.

For the occasion, the Duchess wore a green dress - believed to be a custom Emilia Wickstead number. The pair of earrings she wore are believed to have been borrowed from Her Majesty’s own impressive jewellery collection.
