Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has donated over 700,000 water bottles to healthcare workers during the coronavirus pandemic.

In a video shared to his Instagram, the Hobbs & Shaw star announced that he would be making the donation with Voss Water as a thank you to frontline workers for their efforts throughout the health crisis.

Addressing “some very, very special people out there”, Johnson said: “I’m talking about our frontline workers, our health care workers, who are working so tirelessly day in and day out for months and months now, and you continue to do so.”

“[This] is our small way of saying thank you and letting you know how grateful we are for all of your work as you guys continue to take care of our loved ones, our family and our friends,” he continued.

“I thank you guys so much from the bottom of my heart… and I know I speak for our fellow Americans; I thank you guys so, so much.”

The actor also encouraged his fans to keep following protocol in order to stop the spread of the disease, saying: “We, at our end will continue to be disciplined – wearing masks, being smart, social distancing etc,” he wrote in the post’s caption, “We must do our job as you all continue to do yours.”

During lockdown, Johnson also showed his support for the Black Lives Matter movement, sharing a video in June calling out Donald Trump for his failures as a leader in the wake of George Floyd‘s death.
