Henry Cavill recently confirmed that he wasn't done with the role of Superman yet, despite the character practically being AWOL since 2017's Justice League (bar a cameo in Shazam!, which was not played by Cavill).

What's next for Supes on the big screen, then? Well, one of the movies on DC's slate of projects is Black Adam starring Dwayne Johnson, and producer Hiram Garcia thinks there may be a spot for the character in his movie.

"I think the DC Universe is a wonderful universe and we're open to everything," he told ComicBook.com. "We have big aspirations for it. We're friends with Henry. [Dwayne] and Henry are friends, it's a huge comic book brand as well.

"And I always just loved the idea. Who knows? But man, Black Adam for Superman is really cool. That'd be really powerful."

In the comics, Black Adam is known as the arch-enemy of Shazam, and in the Shazam! movie, Superman made a cameo and was idolised by the main kids, so narratively it doesn't seem like a huge leap to get him involved.

Just last month, Dwayne Johnson confirmed that production would finally begin on the film next July, and that it has been scheduled in for release on December 22, 2021.
