Vin Diesel and Tony Jaa have been the main source for on screen action so far from the set of 'Fast and Furious 7' but now Dwayne Johnson has joined the rest of the cast, things are really heating up. He has shared via his Instagram and Twitter accounts a brand spanking new still that is sure to get fans all excited for what is in store.
The Rock joined the franchise in 'Fast Five' and this will therefore be his third 'Fast and Furious' film as the impossibly well built Agent Hobbs. He may have started out as a foe of Dom and the gang but now he's back, most likely as a friend to the crew who will be being hunted down by Jason Statham's villain in the latest instalment.
Not known for his modesty, Johnson tweeted the photo along with a caption that reads 'I didn't bring the cavalry.. I AM the cavalry" - #HobbsTheBeast'. Do not expect subtlety from 'Fast and Furious 7'. These films promise loads of thrills and spills and increasingly the presence of huge muscles in amidst all the fast car action. Agent Hobbs does not need back up it would appear as he is the back up. What he is about to come up against is unclear from the picture but you can bet it probably won't stand a chance. At least it will be reassuring for Dom and the rest of the gang to know that he has their back when things get nasty.
Though the picture is deliberately lacking in anything that could reveal part of the plot, it does confirm that Agent Hobbs is definitely back and that there will be some carnage. The Rock stands alone, with only his director James Wan far in the distance and setting up the shot. The tunnel that he stands in appears to have already taken some damage with the ground around his feet littered with rubble. Hobbs looks prepared for what comes next with his imposing figure dominating the shot and his trusty gun strapped to his thigh and at the ready.
It is a thrillingly framed shot that might not give anything away but it does have a nice sense of foreboding. Dwayne Johnson is by himself but prepared for some kind of impending onslaught. What is going to come speeding down that tunnel is of course completely unclear but Hobbs 'The Beast' looks all set for action. The last picture from behind the scenes showed Johnson in what looked like a hospital bed so fans will undoubtedly be hoping that this is not The Rock's last stand that we are witnessing a frame of. If he ends up in a bad state, I'm sure most fans will agree it will be a terrible loss to the franchise.
What do you think of the new picture? What is The Rock about to come up against?
