Eddie The Eagle: Taron Egerton Steps Up In Our Exclusive New Clip
‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ star Taron Egerton plays real life British sporting hero Eddie “The Eagle” Edwards in this new film from director Dexter Fletcher (’Sunshine On Leith’) and producer Matthew Vaughn (’Kingsman’, ‘Kick Ass’).
This exclusive new clip shows Edwards, the first British ski jumper to compete in the Winter Olympics at Calgary 1988, prepping for his first jump in a bid to impress his potential coach Bronson, played by Hugh Jackman.
However, the jump seems much more daunting once he actually reaches the top.
Edwards overcame adversity in real life to compete in Calgary, suffering from extreme long-sightedness that required him to wear thick spectacles even when competing.
He was the classic British sporting underdog and as this clip shows, his lack of experience in his chosen field was never going to hold him back.
