A new batch of ‘Kingsman 2’ images are here…

And this time, we find Eggsy suited, booted and licensed to kick ass.

‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ sees the return of Eggsy (Taron Egerton) as the council estate kid turned gentleman spy… and it looks as though he’s getting some interesting new allies as the Kingsman initiative turns stateside.

Enter Channing Tatum in a cowboy hat.

So far, the mysterious American agents have remained shrouded in secrecy. But now, thanks to Empire Magazine, it looks as though we’ve got another new glimpse of Channing Tatum’s very American spy. And we even get some details about the new Statesman agents.

“There’s Halle Berry as the Statesmen’s tech guru, Ginger,” they revealed. “Jeff Bridges as their leader, Agent Champagne (or Champ, as he prefers people to call them), and Pedro Pascal as Agent Jack, who teams up with Taron Egerton’s Kingsman, Eggsy, to try to take down Julianne Moore’s Poppy, a megalomaniacal villain Vaughn describes as ‘America’s sweetheart gone wrong’.”

And Channing Tatum? He’s playing Agent Tequila.

Apparently, the alcohol-themed codenames are all to do with their base of operations – the Statesman are being run undercover, under the guise of running a distillery.

“They’re multi-billionaires with huge jets, and their base is a giant distillery in Kentucky,” said director Matthew Vaughn. “We’ve got all this fun Americana and we’re combining it with the Englishness.”

So what’s next for Eggsy?

“We’ve got a huge arc for Eggsy,” he revealed. “Where does he go? What does he have to learn? And now he’s got a huge moral dilemma the audience will totally relate to.”

Of course, following the death of his mentor Harry Hart (Colin Firth) it looks as though Eggsy has a pretty huge void to fill… and if the rumours of his return are anything to go by, it looks as though Eggsy’s new life could be thrown into disarray with an unexpected blast from the past.

But quite how Harry hart returns remains to be seen.

“There’s an opportunity with Kingsman 2 to make it bigger and bolder and funnier and crazier,” said Vaughn. “The church sequence, everyone wants something like that… But we’ve got action sequences which are just as original but different.”

‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ stars Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, Mark Strong, Channing Tatum, Halle Berry, Pedro Pascal, Julianne Moore and Elton John.

Matthew Vaughn directed the film based on a script he co-wrote with Jane Goldman.

‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ heads to cinemas on 29 September 2017.
