It looks like Christmas (or at least Easter) might be cancelled for Elf actor Faizon Love, after he was arrested and charged with assault yesterday (March 7).

Faizon, who played the manager of Gimbels department store in the film, was taken into custody after an alleged altercation with a valet at John Glenn Columbus International Airport, Ohio.

According to The Columbus Dispatch, the actor appeared in county court today and pleaded not guilty to the charge of assault. He was subsequently released on a $2,000 bail bond.

Although Faizon hasn't directly referenced the incident on social media, he has since retweeted a short news clip of him being questioned by members by the press.

Asked if he had anything to say to the valet worker in question, Faizon simply said: "Watch your mouth, boy."

In other Elf-ruining news, this Buddy fan theory might just change the way you watch the film altogether.

(We are aware it's March, but it's never too early to talk Christmas.)

The theory, which started over on Reddit, claims that it's actually Will Ferrell's character Buddy who sits on a throne of lies, with a user branding him a "sicko".

Rather than actually being, y'know, an elf, it's suggested that Buddy knows exactly what he's up to and is using the guise of 'innocence' to get away with all his, erm... questionable antics.

We don't know about you, but we think that's enough speculating for one day.
