Children and Bronies everywhere, rejoice - a ‘My Little Pony’ animated movie is in the works, and it’s already got a big name star among its voice cast.

ComicBook.com report that Emily Blunt has signed on for the movie from Hasbro, alongside TV voice actors by Tara Strong, Cathy Weseluck, Andrea Libman, Tabitha St. Germain and Ashleigh Ball.

According to CB’s synopsis, ‘My Little Pony: The Movie’ will see the Mane 6 – Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rarity – “embark on an unforgettable journey beyond Equestria” when their home of Ponyville comes under threat from “a new dark force.”

Blunt will voice an all-new character.

The Mane 6′s mission will see them “meet new friends and exciting challenges on a quest to use the magic of friendship and save their home.”

We’d expect nothing less from the series renowned for its wholesome, inspiring messages about the power of friendship.

Hasbro’s My Little Pony toy line has been popular since its introduction in 1983. The first animated series featuring the characters came in 1986.

However, the franchise skyrocketed with the 2010 cartoon series ‘My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic,’ which became a massive sensation and attracted an unexpectedly large adult fanbase. (That’s who the term ‘bronies’ refers to, in case you were wondering.)

‘My Little Pony: The Movie’ is due in cinemas November 2017.
