N’Jie’s sudden departure from the soap was put down to Ellis jetting off to work at his mum’s school in Dubai, but the character will now make a surprise return in December.
Anthony, who has previously appeared on shows such as Delicious and Doctors, said he was thrilled to have bagged a part in the soap.
“Emmerdale is a cracking show with a brilliant cast that I’m over the moon to now be a part of,” he said.
“I know Ellis is a well-loved character and I’m looking forward to continuing his journey and all that’s in store for him.”
N’Jie’s Emmerdale contract was terminated in September after the fight at the awards show.
Video that emerged showed the actor throwing a punch and swearing at Lomas following the ceremony at the Hilton Park Lane in London.

The actor – who had played Ellis since September 2018 – later apologised and admitted that his behaviour had been "unacceptable”.
He said in a statement at the time: "My behaviour at the TV Choice Awards was completely unacceptable and very much out of character.
"I sincerely apologise to everybody who has been affected especially Jamie Lomas, the whole Emmerdale team, our audience, ITV, my family, and the organisers of the TV Choice Awards.
"I am devastated, accept full responsibility for my actions and I am determined to learn from this."
