'Emmerdale' star Isabel Hodgins is engaged.

The 30-year-old actress - who has played Victoria Sugden on the ITV soap since 2006 - took to Instagram to share a picture from the special moment her boyfriend Adam popped the question over a romantic dinner.

She gushed in the caption on Instagram: "The most incredible night of my life. I said yes to marrying my best friend. My kind, sweet, patient and generous perfect person. I can’t wait to spend forever with you.”

Her former co-star Adam Thomas commented: "Whattttt (sic)."

Isabel previously dated her co-star Michael Parr from 2015 to 2019, however, when Michael left his role as Ross Barton to try and crack America, she stayed behind.

A source told The Sun newspaper at the time of their split: "They drifted apart and felt it was better to be mates. He has been throwing himself into his social life and has just been on a lads' hol and she is focusing on work, they're both young and want to follow their dreams. They had a meaningful relationship and they'll remember the good times."

Isabel has played Victoria since she was 12, whilst Michael joined the show in 2013 and began dating Isabel a couple of years later.

The 37-year-old actor said of his plans: "My granddad fought in Vietnam and got based over in Warrington, England, met my nan, who was a Scouser, shipped them over to Brooklyn, because his family are from Brooklyn.

"When he was going round the airbases my mum was born in Oregon and my mum was born in Mississippi.

"I feel like I've had a big American influence in my life, obviously because my mum is American. I feel like it's always calling me. At some point I will [live there].

"I just think it'd be so cool to just maybe do a year in New York and maybe go for it in LA, see if I can get some work out there."
