Este Haim finds herself labelled 'mystery drunk woman' at the Brits

This year’s Brit awards were cause for celebration. Performances from Stormzy and Kendrick Lamar amazed, rightful winners were chosen, and host Jack Whitehall made some jokes that actually landed.

One of those jokes concerned Liam Payne and Cheryl, who appeared together at the ceremony. Whitehall decided to pay the pair a visit, visiting their table and mentioning Liam was performing a song from the new 50 Shades — a movie that focusses primarily on bondage.

Keeping on subject, the host decided to ask Cheryl about their safe word, to which the singer replied: “don’t stop”.

While the moment could have been relatively dull, Este Haim — the bass played for the chart-topping band Haim, formed of three sisters — provided the entertainment, waving at the camera and mouthing “call me”.

Unfortunately, the number one publication for the lads of Britain, LadBible, decided not to headline their piece on Twitter as “Este Haim leaves viewers laughing” but titled their article: “’Drunk woman’ behind Liam and Cheryl at BRIT Awards makes viewers p*ss themselves laughing”.

Other publications soon followed suit, including the Mirror, who referred to Este only as ‘mystery drunk woman’ in their main headline. In both articles she is eventually named.

As a result of labelled Este ‘drunk woman’ rather than using her actual name, there was some backlash in the comments section, with Este responding with the Tweet: “Not drunk, just living my truth”.

Also at the Brits, Stormzy decided to lampoon Prime Minister Theresa May and the Daily Mail during a scathing freestyle. Catch up on everything from the ceremony here.
