Exclusive: Star Trek Into Darkness clip: Disrupting Spock

Cumberbatch takes aim at our favourite Vulcan.

After last week’s cold character assassination of Kirk, Benedict Cumberbatch’s brooding Trek villain John Harrison is taking aim at Spock, in this brand new 'Disruption' trailer for ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’.

“Mr. Spock. The mind of the Enterprise,” starts Cumberbatch. “The fearless genius who ensures a calm force of intelligence guides their every mission.

“But look deeper and you will see an outsider who does not belong. A man of two worlds.

“Does he follow his head, embracing logic and the path of reason? Or does he follow his heart, knowing the emotions he cannot control may destroy him?” He continues: “I will help him decide.”

And it started out so nicely…

Cumberbatch’s calculated British bad guy goes for the jugular here - uncomfortably picking apart Zachary Quinto’s endearing Commander Spock , and even dragging girlfriend Uhura, played by Zoe Saldana, into it.

Now, you’re English Benedict, and that’s just not cricket.

‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ is out in the UK on 9 May 2013.
