Fan Reckons The Force Awakens Syncs Perfectly With Pink Floyd

Could J.J. Abrams have betrayed an obsession with Pink Floyd in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’?

One fan certainly believes so, and is claiming that the movie syncs perfectly with their magnum opus, 'The Dark Side Of The Moon’.

Reddit user knnl has proffered the ‘proof’ of the matter.

“Each act is roughly the same time as the album (~40 minutes),” they explain.

“The music is always spot on for every scene, but the lyrics are what confirm that this was, indeed, [intentional].”

The user also gives instructions on how to set up 'The Force Awakens’ with its secondary soundtrack:

“Play the album after the crawl, when the camera moves from the stars to the ship that’s flying over and eclipsing jakku’s moon (hint hint). Leave the 'Repeat’ on, it needs to be played 3 times in a row, one for each act, with no interruptions.

“Basically, press play as soon as the text from the crawl vanishes from the screen. The screams at the end of 'Speak to Me’ sync perfectly to bb-8 running after seeing the ships arriving at jakku, so, if you’re having trouble syncing at the crawl, leave the album paused at the second the screams begin, then press play at the exact moment that bb-8 turns around after seeing the ships.”

Also listed are some of the lyric and scene syncs, a few of which do seem to be rather fortuitous:

“I’m not afraid of dying. Anytime will do - This is said on the album right after Poe wakes up on the torture chamber and stares at Kylo (Torry starts her screams at the same time Poe screams in the movie).”

Elsewhere, the fate of Han Solo appears to be referenced in 'The Great Gig In The Sky’.

Though whether you fully subscribe to this rather out-there theory could take a bit a suspended disbelief, though the ‘dark side’ part is obviously a lovely fit.
