Fans confused by tie at Critics' Choice Awards

Social media went into overdrive after the winner of the Best Actress in a Limited Series at the Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday night resulted in a tie.

Amy Adams and Patricia Arquette were named equal winners of the award for their performances in Sharp Objects and Escape at Dannemora, respectively, and fans have a lot to say.

When the award was presented, Amy Adams was the first to be announced as a winner.

“I want the other woman up here,” she confidently said, prompting the announcement of Arquette’s victory.

The pair hugged and supported one another’s gracious speeches, and some fans applauded the stars for handling the situation so gracefully.

Many viewers were in disbelief that two actresses had to share the spotlight at the prestigious awards ceremony.

“Amy Adams couldn’t even win a Critics’ Choice Award without f*****g tying. What an absolute joke,” tweeted one fan.

“Amy Adams and Patricia Arquette won omg what the f*** I’m so shocked (sic),” wrote another.

However, other fans were excited that both actresses were recognized.
