Fast 8: Tyrese Gibson Has “NEVER Had A Problem” With The Rock

In the wake of all this hullaballoo surrounding ‘Fast 8’ and its allegedly “candy-ass” actors, ‘Fast & Furious’ series star Tyrese Gibson has spoken out.

The generally affable action superstar Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson surprised many this past weekend with an angry rant on Instagram, blasting an unnamed male co-star (or possibly co-stars, plural) as “chicken s**t” and “candy asses,” saying that some of his fellow actors “conduct themselves as stand-up men and true professionals, while others don’t.”

In response to this, Gibson also took to Instagram on Tuesday (the post has subsequently been deleted, but not before it was copied by Instagram account Baller Alert), sharing a video of his daughter’s birthday party at which Johnson sang ‘Happy Birthday.’

Gibson wrote, “a man wouldn’t be singing with his heart and soul to another man’s little angel if he had a problem with her dad.”

Gibson goes on to stress he has no idea which male co-star/s Johnson is angry with, but seems confident he isn’t one of them:

“I don’t know WHO he has a problem (with) and I don’t have any details of WHAT those problems are – as a matter of fact if I DID know I would tell you s**t!

“I think Dewayne aka DJ happens to be one of the most humble, down to earth and professional people I’ve ever worked with and more importantly he’s my brother we have NEVER had a problem and will never have a problem. WE are good over here.”

It has since been reported that Johnson’s row may be with ‘Fast & Furious’ figurehead star and producer Vin Diesel, but no official statements have been made on the matter.

Gibson joined the series on 2003’s first sequel ‘2 Fast 2 Furious,’ then returned on the high octane series reviver ‘Fast Five’ (also Johnson’s first ‘Fast & Furious’ movie), and has remained a core player in the ensemble since.

‘Fast 8’ is scheduled to hit cinemas 14 April 2017.
