Ludacris has teased that Fast & Furious 9 will finally see Dominic Torreto and his family head into outer-space, something that has been suggested for a number of years.

While the actor didn’t actually confirm that the franchise would go into space, he heavily insinuated that it would.

During his appearance on Thursday’s SiriusXM’s The Jess Cage Show, Ludacris was asked by co-host Julia Cunningham how the blockbuster film can build upon their previous action scenes and set-pieces.

As she asked this question, she broke down a number of potential scenarios, which included Dom, Letty, Roman, Ramsey, and Ludacris’ Tej going into space.

It was at this point that Ludacris responded, “You just said something very important. I will say that you are very intuitive, cause you said something right, but I'm not going to give it away."

This isn’t the first time that someone associated with the Fast And The Furious franchise has discussed moving it into the cosmos.

Chris Morgan, who has now written The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious, Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6, Furious 7, The Fate Of The Furious, and last year’s Hobbs & Shaw, previously told Entertainment Weekly that he “would never shoot down space.”

“Never, never. I would literally never shoot down anything, as long as it hits the parameters: ‘Is it badass? is it awesome? Will the audience love it? And will it not break faith with the audience as they’re watching it?’ I’m down for whatever.”

We’ll see if Fast & Furious 9 actually goes into space on April 2, 2021, as its release has been delayed by a year due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
