Fast & Furious 8 Set Video Sees Main Cast United

When it comes to the ‘Fast & Furious’ movies, we’ve learned to expect three specific things: fast cars, ridiculous action, and bro-down camaraderie. (Oh, and gratuitous shots of women’s bottoms, but that’s another matter.)

The third item of the list is covered in this newly released video from the set of the in-production ‘Fast & Furious 8,′ which shows the movie’s core ensemble back together.

That said, there’s one notable new arrival - and one perhaps surprising returnee.

Watch the video below.

As director F Gary Gray tells us, this is the first scene shot for ‘Fast & Furious 8′ which brings together the whole team.

The gang’s all there, with series regulars Vin Diesel as Dom, Michelle Rodriguez as Letty, Tyrese Gibson as Roman, Ludacris as Tej, and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson as Hobbs.

Also returning from ‘Fast & Furious 7′ we have Kurt Russell as enigmatic government agent Mr Nobody, and Nathalie Emmanuel as super-hacker Ramsey.

We also get our first glimpse at ‘Fast & Furious’ newbie Scott Eastwood, whose suit would seem to suggest he too works for the government or police; the as-yet unnamed character would seem designed to fill the rather sizeable gap left by the late Paul Walker.

Perhaps the biggest surprise, however, is the sight of Jason Statham - ‘Fast & Furious 7′s villain, Deckard Shaw, who ended that movie very securely locked up - among the ensemble.

Could this be a hint that Statham’s character, having spent the entire last film trying to kill them all, has somehow become one of the good guys now? We shall see.

Other ‘Fast & Furious 8’ stars not seen here include Charlize Theron as new villain Cipher, Eva Mendes reprising her '2 Fast 2 Furious’ role as Agent Monica Fuentes, and 'The Fast & The Furious: Tokyo Drift’ star Lucas Black reprising his role of Sean Boswell.

The crew behind ‘Fast & Furious 8′ have been releasing weekly updates from the production via social media, so no doubt we have a great many more sneak peeks to look forward to before the movie hits cinemas on 14 April 2017.
