Ferris Bueller returns… sort of
Matthew Broderick stars in a 10-second clip posted online
Ferris Bueller fans rejoice! The legendary 80’s character is set to return… but probably just in an advert.
Matthew Broderick stars in a 10-second clip posted online that sees the now-middle-aged star open the curtains of his room and say: “How can I handle work on a day like today?”

Although he’s all grown-up, the phrase mirrors the famous line in 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off': “How can I possibly be expected to handle school on a day like this?”
The caption on the vid teases yet more excitement: “We hate to be such a tease, but on a day like today, we just have to. Stick it out until the Super Bowl, or take a 'day off' on Monday and catch the big reveal."
The video finishes with ‘2/5/2012’ (5 February) - the same date as the 2012 Super Bowl Sunday.
Although it’s likely the advert is for an as-yet-unnamed product, fans of the classic movie will be glad to catch another glimpse of their favourite character.
There’s also rumours that the clip might actually tease a sequel for the film… but don’t get your hopes up.
The original movie starred Broderick as a cheeky student who takes a day off from school. However, things get tricky when the school principal becomes suspicious. Co-starring Jennifer Grey, Jeffrey Jones, Alan Ruck, the film is now seen as an ‘80s classic.
