Fifty Shades Of Grey movie: Dakota Johnson and Charlie Hunnam cast in lead roles

After months of speculation, the wait is over: actress Dakota Johnson will play Anastasia Steele and Charlie Hunnam will play Christian Grey in the ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ movie.

Author EL James confirmed the casting in a series of tweets:

Johnson who previously played rival undercover cop Fugazy in ’21 Jump Street’, also appeared as the student who first introduced Justin Timberlake to Facebook after a one night stand in ‘The Social Network’.

Hunnam is most famous for playing the lead role in 'Pacific Rim' - released earlier this year. He also starred in TV show 'Sons of Anarchy' as Jackson 'Jax' Teller.

A raft of female stars including Emma Stone, Cara Delevigne, Lily Collins, Emilia Clarke, Amanda Seyfried, Shailene Woodley and Mila Kunis had all been linked (perhaps wishfully) to the ‘Fifty Shades’ role.

‘Harry Potter’ star Emma Watson famously took to Twitter to put down speculation surrounding her own casting in the movie, stating: “Who here actually thinks I would do Fifty Shades of Grey as a movie?” she said. “Like really. For real. In real life.”

Meanwhile Alex Pettyfer, Jessie Pavelka, Paul Walker, Dominic Cooper and James Franco were just a few of the actors rumored to play entrepreneur/bondage enthusiast Christian Grey.
