They are included in an official video presented by veteran Bond producer Michael G. Wilson and shows (we reckon) Daniel Craig - or a body double - in a backlit room with a big machine gun.

Watch the video here.

It may only last for a few seconds, but it is the very first footage from ‘Skyfall’ and therefore officially exciting. The project only started filming in November.

In the introduction video Wilson also thanks fans for supporting the 50-year-old franchise, and promises more clips and info on the site in the coming months.

Elsewhere in the world of James Bond, the mystery over what role Ralph Fiennes will play in the film may have been revealed.

According to a report in MovieWeb, a mole for EON productions said Fiennes will be play a character that replaces Dame Judi Dench as M. Could this be the final ‘Bond’ Dench will appear in? She has played her in six movies.

Sony’s official synopsis for ‘Skyfall’ hints at trouble for M. “Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost."

Nonetheless, take the report with a pinch of salt until confirmed by the studio.

The hotly anticipated 23rd Bond film stars Daniel Craig as 007. His co-stars are Fiennes, Dench, Javier Bardem, Albert Finney, Naomie Harris, Bérénice Marlohe and Ben Whishaw.

‘Skyfall’ is released in the UK on 26 October 2012.
