First look: Ashton Kutcher as Steve Jobs

Official image of Kutcher emerges ahead of jOBS screening for Sundance

The first official look at Ashton Kutcher playing the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs has been unveiled.

The film, called jOBS, will close Robert Redford's annual Sundance Film Festival in late January, it has been announced.

As with previous shots leaked from the film's production, Kutcher's resemblance to the entrepreneur, who died in 2011, is striking.

The independent production began filming this summer and stars Josh Gad as fellow Apple founder Steve Wozniak, alongside Dermot Mulroney, Lukas Haas, James Woods and Matthew Modine.

But it's not the only Jobs biopic on the block.

Sony Pictures is also working on a Jobs film, with 'The West Wing' and 'The Social Network' writer Aaron Sorkin penning the screenplay from Walter Isaacson's authorised biography 'Steve Jobs'.

Sorkin recently revealed that he plans a radical three-scene structure for the film, making it play out in real time.

There's no word yet who will star as Jobs in this version, however.
