Yahoo Movies First look at It's Always Sunny star's hair transformation for new movie
Glenn Howerton, star of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, has shown off his hair transformation for his upcoming movie.
The actor, who plays Dennis Reynolds on the sitcom, is seen sporting a shorter hairstyle for his role as Jim Balsillie in BlackBerry.
The film, which co-stars Jay Baruchel, sees Howerton play the CEO of the now defunct company, with the narrative set to depict the organisation’s sharp rise and steep fall.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Howerton revealed he shaved his head instead of wearing a bald cap, explaining that he often finds bald caps “distracting” when watching films himself.
“We made a decision very early on to shave my head instead of trying to wear a prosthetic or a bald cap because I think it wouldn't have looked as good,” he said. “I really get distracted in movies by bad wigs and bad bald caps, so I wanted to avoid that as much as possible.”
“[The film is about] the interesting and fascinating ways in which they rose to the top of the market,” he said of the project. “The BlackBerry [was] the most important phone in the world to have – it [was] such a desirable device.
“And [it’s about] the hubris of thinking you've figured it all out, and then something comes in like the iPhone and sweeps it all away from you before you realise it.”

BlackBerry, which is directed by Matt Johnson, will have its world premiere this month at the Berlin Film Festival, before debuting in the US at SXSW next month. Its theatrical US release is currently planned for June 2.
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which debuted in 2005, has run for 15 seasons, with at least another three in the works following its most recent renewal order.
David Hornsby, who plays priest Matthew Mara on the show, recently teased a comeback for the 16th season, saying: “Listen, I hope so. I mean we have to. Last season was a travesty, you know? There was zero Cricket.”
BlackBerry will be released later in 2023. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia airs on FXX and FX on Hulu in the US, while Netflix has the first 14 seasons in the UK, with season 15 dropping on February 1.
