First look at Lindsay Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor

Actress recreates iconic pose for 'Liz & Dick' TV Biopic

The first official image released of Lindsay Lohan as screen icon Elizabeth Taylor might just win over a few doubters.

The Lifetime TV Biopic 'Liz & Dick' focuses on the turbulent relationship between Taylor and Welsh actor Richard Burton. 'True Blood' hunk Grant Bowler has nabbed himself the role opposite Lohan after impressing producers at the auditions.

The TV movie began filming earlier this week, and the first still from the production has been quickly released.

We had to double-take as this image certainly looks the part. Perhaps it's just the black and white lighting that has us convinced, but even the facial expressions look just right.

The image is a recreation of an unused shot from a 1963 issue of Life magazine. Salvador Perez, who is working as a costumer on the film, said: “That was an easy one to reproduce, and we just went out and found them both period mock turtlenecks. We took the picture and there was an audible gasp in the room because it was so right on.”

Over on celebrity gossip site TMZ, there is an even more candid picture of Lohan on set in her full Taylor regalia.

This unofficial pic is less convincing as Lohan just looks like herself, but with period make-up on. The natural redhead has had her hair cut and dyed to match that of Taylor, so you can't fault Lohan on her commitment to the role.
