A first look at Chris Evans and Dakota Johnson's upcoming rom-com movie Materialists is here.

Directed by Past Lives' Celine Song, Materialists follows the story of a matchmaker whose "lucrative business gets complicated" after she finds herself entangled in a "toxic love triangle" which threatens her clients.

Further details regarding the film's cast and plot are yet to be announced, but it would appear that Johnson is playing the role of the matchmaker.

Meanwhile, Evans and The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal appear to be playing the films two love interests, a wealthy man which the matchmaker has recently begun a relationship with and a "broke actor-waiter" whom she still harbours feelings for.

Filming is currently underway in New York, with Evans and Johnson appearing to be shooting a romantically charged scene with their characters.

In the images, Johnson can be seen wearing a blue strapless evening gown, while Evans is dressed in a white shirt and black waistcoat ensemble. The pair can be seen chatting and smoking together while stood outside of a restaurant.

Other images from set also reveal a first look at Pascal's character, dressed smartly as he walks down the sidewalk with a jacket slung over his shoulder.

Alongside directing, Song has also written the script for Materialists. A24 and Sony Pictures will handle the film's distribution across the US and international markets.

Materialists will be Song's second collaboration with A24, with the director previously working with them to create her debut movie Past Lives, which went on to be nominated for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay at the 2024 Oscars.

Filming for the movie comes off of the back of Johnson's appearance in Sony's superhero film Madame Web. The film went on to be a critical and box-office flop, receiving a score of just 11% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Materialists is yet to receive a release date.
