Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly are absolute dead ringers for comedy legends Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.

Though there were a few snapped pictures from the movie’s set in the West Midlands during filming last year, this is the first proper glimpse of the pair from the forthcoming biopic Stan & Ollie.

The movie follows the double act as they embarked on what would become their farewell tour of Britain in 1953.

With their notoriety diminished, and their golden era long behind them, it finds the two stars struggling with an uncertain future.

It also stars Shirley Henderson as Hardy’s wife Lucille, Nina Arianda and Laurel’s wife Ida, and Danny Huston as the pair’s producer and frequent collaborator Hal Roach.

Helmed by director Jon S. Baird, who made Irvine Welsh adaptation Filth, it’s written by Jeff Pope, who was nominated for an Oscar for his last project with Coogan, 2013’s Philomena.

The movie will make its debut at the 62nd London Film Festival, at the closing gala on October 21.

It will get a full UK release on January 11, 2019.
