Netflix has released a first-look image of Tom Hardy in action-thriller Havoc from Gangs of London co-creator Gareth Evans.

First announced in 2021, the film stars the Venom actor as a detective tasked to rescue a politician's son after a drug deal gone wrong and uncovering corruption and conspiracies in the process.

The image unveiled by the streamer sees Hardy as protagonist Walker as he brandishes a gun.

Revealing more details about the film, writer-director Evans promised "a blistering, fast-paced action-thriller with nods to Hong Kong cinema" (via Empire).

"When it comes to a film called Havoc, with me and Tom Hardy, we deliver on the action front," he continued.

"That's the primary focus. But with Tom, what you get as well is an intensely muscular central performance, and really well-developed character. There's a lot going on under the hood. "

The film, which is co-produced by Hardy, also stars Fallout's Xelia Mendes-Jones, The Mandalorian's Timothy Olyphant, Shadow and Bone's Jessie Mei Li, Oscar-winner Forest Whitaker, Wednesday's Luis Guzmań and Training Day's Justin Cornwell, as well as Yeo Yann Yann, Quelin Sepulveda, Sunny Pang and Michelle Waterson.

Havoc is set for a 2025 release on Netflix, though an exact date is yet to be announced.

The show will provide insights into real-life assignments conducted by elite military forces, mainly focusing on the Special Air Service (SAS) troops and their operations during notable incidents, including the 1980 Iranian Embassy siege.

Havoc is released on Netflix in 2025.
