In space, no one can hear you scream… but can they still read your tweets?

As you may have seen, ‘Alien: Covenant’ premiered in London on Thursday evening, and while no full-length reviews have landed online just yet (as is often the case, they’re embargoed for now), there has naturally been no shortage of reactions on Twitter.

Happily for fans of the esteemed sci-fi horror franchise, the general consensus on director Ridley Scott’s follow-up to ‘Prometheus’ seems pretty good.

Still, some reactions were a little more lukewarm:

Still, perhaps the best and most on-the-nose under-140 character appraisal of ‘Alien: Covenant’ came from ‘Kong: Skull Island’ director Jordan Vogt-Roberts:

‘Alien: Covenant’ marks director Ridley Scott’s third entry in the ‘Alien’ series, following on from the 1979 original and 2012 prequel ‘Prometheus.’ Set more than a decade after the last entry, the new movie sees a team of deep space colonists unwittingly set down on the planet where the crew of the Prometheus met a nasty end. Naturally, things will get ugly.

‘Prometheus’ actor Michael Fassbender returns, alongside series newcomers including Katharine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Demián Bichir and Danny McBride.

We can expect full-length ‘Alien: Covenant’ reviews to start landing over the weekend, before the movie opens in UK cinemas on 12 May.
