The Boys' Aya Cash and The Good Place's William Jackson Harper break up as a couple in the first trailer for a new rom-com.

In the movie We Broke Up, the stars play Lori and Doug who keep their recent split a secret while attending the wedding of Lori's sister Bea (Sarah Bolger) at a summer camp.

The trailer, which can be watched in full above, kicks off with Lori reacting to Doug's marriage proposal by throwing up, leading Doug to end things between them after 10 years.

The timing of this, just before Bea's wedding, proves to be very awkward, but Lori and Doug both agree not to tell anyone until the weekend is over to avoid stealing the spotlight.

The decision results in several rather uncomfortable moments between the pair, as they struggle to hide the break-up from everyone at the event.

The movie launches in the US on April 23, but no release date for the UK has been announced yet.

Cash recently played the supervillain Stormfront in Amazon Prime Video's The Boys. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, she said that she was unsure whether she would be back for season 3.

"I want to know if she'll be back, too," she said.

"I'm not there now. I'm on a new Fox show now called This Country. My contract for The Boys was only for a year, so who knows? Maybe they can CGI my face in."

Meanwhile, Harper – who played Chidi Anagonye in The Good Place – will be replacing Anna Kendrick as the lead for Love Life's second season. He will also star in The Underground Railroad.
