The Boys' Anthony Starr goes from creepy superhero to creepy parent in the first trailer for Cobweb.

The upcoming movie casts Starr and Fatal Attraction's Lizzy Caplan as the frightening parents to a little boy (Poldark's Woody Norman) who constantly hears a menacing knock on his wall.

The more consumed young Peter becomes with figuring out who's knocking, the more his parents try to convince him that he's imagining the whole thing — and it becomes increasingly likely that they are hiding a dark secret.

As if the premise alone wasn't unsettling enough, their family's house is surrounded by a pumpkin patch so you just know something bad is going to happen!

Infinity Pool and Rebel Moon star Cleopatra Coleman also stars in Cobweb as the school counsellor, Miss Devine, who suspects that Peter could be in danger at home.

The film comes from Lazy Company director Samuel Bodin and writer Chris Thomas Devlin — who was behind Netflix's reboot of Texas Chainsaw Massacre last year.

Several high-profile producers are on board Cobweb, including Hollywood superstar Seth Rogen and his partner Evan Goldberg as well as Barbarian and Don't Worry Darling's Roy Lee.

Aside from his horror turn, Anthony Starr is also set to return as the maniacal superhero Homelander in the fourth season of The Boys — with co-star Erin Moriarty hinting the new episodes will "go a little deeper" into the backstories of the Seven.

Filming wrapped on The Boys season 4 back in April, so it shouldn't be too long before we find out more about the return of Homelander. A premiere date hasn't yet been announced.
