First trailer for The Last of Us star's new movie Suncoast
The Last of Us star Nico Parker's new coming-of-age film Suncoast has released an official trailer.
Parker stars as teen Doris who, while trying to balance fitting in at school and caring for her terminally ill brother, makes an unlikely new friend.
The actress is in good company, as the film also stars Ozark's Laura Linney and Woody Harrelson, who has starred in Cheers as well as blockbusters such as The Hunger Games.

As per the film's synopsis, Suncoast follows "a teenager (Parker) living with her strong-willed mother (Linney), who must take her brother (Cree Kawa) to live at a specialised facility. There, she strikes up an unlikely friendship with an eccentric activist (Harrelson) amidst protests surrounding one of the most landmark medical cases of all time."
The new trailer shows Parker and Harrelson's characters sharing their tragic life experiences in a diner, while in other scenes Doris throws a house party for her classmates – even though they don't know who she is.
Written and directed by Laura Chinn in her feature directorial debut, the film is semi-autobiographical and is based on Chinn's own experiences during the early 2000s.
Suncoast will be released exclusively on Hulu in the US on February 9, while there isn't yet a date for a UK release.

Last year Parker starred in HBO's hit video game adaptation The Last of Us as Joel (Pedro Pascal)'s daughter Sarah. While the young actress only features in the show's opening episode, critics praised her compelling guest appearance and her performance alongside lead Pascal.
Parker's acting talent runs in the family, as her mother is Line of Duty and Westworld star Thandiwe Newton.
The Last of Us has recently announced new casting for its upcoming second season, with Beef's Young Mazino, Dopesick's Kaitlyn Dever and Superman: Legacy's Isabella Merced all reported to be joining the show. But co-creator Craig Mazin has sadly confirmed that we won't be seeing any more of characters Bill and Frank, with no plans for flashbacks or a spin-off series.
Suncoast lands on Hulu in the US on February 9, with a UK release yet to be confirmed.
