First trailer for Liam Neeson's very cold thriller The Ice Road drops

Liam Neeson is continuing his streak of action thrillers with the new movie The Ice Road, which has dropped its first trailer. It's also been confirmed how it's going to be released, as it varies between the UK and other countries.

The new trailer – which you can check out above – features the Love Actually and Star Wars: The Phantom Menace actor and Ant-Man and the Wasp's Laurence Fishburne as a pair of truckers who hear about an accident in a mine and decide to mount a rescue.

As they travel along the titular ice road, they don't have to deal with a race against time in a very dangerous environment, but it also looks like they have been sabotaged as well.

The film has been written and directed by Jonathan Hensleigh, who previously wrote and directed the 2004 The Punisher movie and penned scripts for Die Hard with a Vengeance, Armageddon and the original Jumanji.

Netflix will be releasing the film on June 25, though the situation is different in the UK. Here, it will be getting a cinema release from Signature Entertainment, who released Liam Neeson's Honest Thief here last year.

"We are thrilled to release The Ice Road in the UK and Ireland later this year," Signature's CEO Marc Goldberg said (via Deadline).

"After the very successful release of Honest Thief we couldn’t be more excited to bring another all action Liam Neeson picture to UK audiences."

The Ice Road will be released in the third quarter of the year in UK cinemas.
