First trailer for Millie Bobby Brown's new Netflix movie Damsel
Netflix has released the first trailer for Millie Bobby Brown's new fantasy adventure film, Damsel.
The movie sees the Stranger Things star as a young princess turned unwilling heroine when she's forced to do battle with a ferocious dragon.
The first trailer was released today (November 11), and gave viewers a glimpse at Princess Elodie's treatment at the hands of a system that leaves her fending for her life.
Opening with various shots of Elodie fleeing through a treacherous-looking cave accompanied by an unseen monster, the trailer is set to the ominous 'Run From Me' by Timber Timbre.

The trailer then catches up with the previously released poster of the film, showing Elodie standing in a crevice atop a mountain, having climbed up a vicious-looking chasm studded with crystals.
Elsewhere, we see life before Elodie finds herself in quite so much danger; a voiceover hints at the film's premise by saying: "For generations it has been our task to protect our people. So tonight, you join a long line of women who helped to build this kingdom. The price is dear, but so too the reward."
As the trailer implies, protecting the kingdom may involve more swords, bloodshed and magical beasts than diplomacy – and a particularly striking shot shows Elodie stumble across scrawled names on a cave wall, hinting at previous victims of the dragon.

The film's official synopsis reads: "A dutiful damsel agrees to marry a handsome prince, only to find the royal family has recruited her as a sacrifice to repay an ancient debt. Thrown into a cave with a fire-breathing dragon, she must rely on her wits and will to survive."
Damsel's wider cast features Angela Bassett as Princess Elodie's stepmother, Robin Wright as Queen Isabelle and Ray Winstone as the King.
Nick Robinson stars as Prince Henry – Elodie's betrothed – and the cast is rounded out by Brooke Carter and Shohreh Aghdashloo.
The film was originally meant to be released on October 13, before its delay to a 2024 release date was confirmed.
Damsel will be released on Netflix in 2024.
