The rom-com sees Hampshire star as Emma, whose marriage to Josh (Jonas Chernick) is lacking intimacy. Wanting to spice things up, they send their kids off to camp and embark in a series of adventures to “reinvigorate their sex life and save their marriage.”
The trailer shows the couple trying their best to rekindle the spark they once had, including attempts at making each other jealous and a very awkward family meeting at a swingers party.
Also starring alongside Hampshire and Chernick are Gray Powell, Lily Gao and Melanie Scrofano, with Sean Garrity in the director’s chair. Hampshire serves as an executive producer for the project, whilst Chernick wrote the screenplay.
The film is due to be released in the US and Canada on April 28th by Vortex Productions, but currently has no date lined up for UK audiences.
Upon the film’s announcement in January, Justin Rebelo, CEO of Vortex Media, said: “We are thrilled to partner with the creative team behind The End of Sex. "We love this script and couldn't be happier to bring it to life – we look forward to sharing it with the world when the time is right to bring it to market.”
“They're still there - we are going to work together again,” she said. “We're never going to do this show again, but I'm sure, and I'm not saying, 'For sure this is happening,' I'm sure because I know and love these people that we're gonna do something like that, get together and do some movie or something.”
The End of Sex will be released in the US on April 28th; there is currently no UK release date.
