Yahoo Movies First trailer for Spider-Man spin-off Kraven the Hunter is released
The Spider-Verse continues to grow after the first trailer for the latest Spider-Man spin-off, Kraven the Hunter, was just released.
Kraven the Hunter is a classic Spider-Man villain and the film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who played Quicksilver in the MCU, in the titular role. The character is a big-game hunter who, in the comics, wants to defeat Spider-Man to prove he's the best hunter in the world.
The trailer promises plenty of animalistic action – from both actual animals and also from Taylor-Johnson himself.

The trailer features Russell Crowe as Kraven's father, while Levi Miller is seen as a young Kraven. The trailer sets up a story where Kraven is forced to overcome his abusive father, who leaves him for dead for being "weak" after being mauled by a lion.
There are plenty of other action-packed sequences, too. One scene shows Kraven taking down a group of men in a truck using his bare hands and his teeth — he bites one man and spits out the flesh.
This trailer promises Kraven the Hunter to be one of the more brutal entries to the Spider-Verse canon and, while there was no direct mention of Spidey himself, there was a glimpse of another classic Spider-Man villain.

At the end of the trailer, Alessandro Nivola was shown as the Rhino. He injects himself with a serum while his skin turns into the hide of a rhino.
Fred Hechinger was also featured as The Chameleon, Kraven's half-brother, and Ariana DeBose plays Kraven's love-interest, the voodoo priestess Calypso.
This trailer comes hot on the heels of the uber-successful Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which ended on a huge cliffhanger but opened up the entire Spider-Verse. It remains to be seen if or how these projects will connect but we have feeling some answers may be delivered with next year's Beyond the Spider-Verse.
Kraven the Hunter arrives in cinemas on October 6, 2023.
