First trailer for Torchwood and Game of Thrones star's new thriller

Game of Thrones and Torchwood star Burn Gorman is back in a new thriller titled Watcher, and ahead of its cinema release in a few months, its first trailer has dropped.

The Stranger and It Follows actress Maika Monroe leads the film as Julia, a woman who moves to Romania when her husband, played by Nocturnal Animals and Greyhound's Karl Glusman, relocates to his homeland for a new job, abandoning her acting career in the process.

Julia finds herself bored and alone constantly, until one night she sees someone staring out of their window back at her. She then feels like she's being watched by someone wherever she goes, which isn't helped by the news of a serial killer known as The Spider striking out in the city.

Is it just her paranoia, or is she really being stalked by a murderer? If it's latter, can she save herself from a grisly end?

The film has already been screened at the Sundance Film Festival and the SXSW Film Festival, and early reviews have been very positive indeed, praising its stylish visuals and how the third act in particular is very strong.

As far as America goes, Watcher will premiere in cinemas on June 3, and when it comes to streaming, it will initially be an exclusive to horror platform Shudder. A UK release date isn't known at this point, but we'll be sure to update as soon as we know.

In other horror news, following the success of the fifth Scream movie, a sixth movie has been greenlit and been dated for this time next year.
