15 years since her last movie (yes, really), screen icon Goldie Hawn is back – and this time, she’s brought her daughter. Well, on-screen daughter at least.

Hawn has teamed up with Amy Schumer, screenwriter Kate Dippold (‘The Heat,’ ‘Ghostbusters’) and director Jonathan Levine (‘Warm Bodies,’ ’50/50′) for a film which for a long time was known only as ‘Untitled Mother/Daughter Action Comedy’ – but has now been given the somewhat eye-opening title of ‘Snatched.’

But don’t expect any Guy Ritchie-isms here; if anything, the film looks more along the lines of a tongue-in-cheek, female-fronted equivalent of the ‘Taken’ movies.

Along with the announcement of the title, we have not one but two trailers – one green band (i.e. PG-ish), the other red band (i.e. definitely not PG). Watch the safer version above, and the more risque version below.

The official synopsis of ‘Snatched’ relays a lot of what we see in both trailers: ‘Tranwreck’ actress Schumer is Emily, “a spontaneous woman in her 30s” who, after getting unceremoniously dumped by her boyfriend, “persuades her ultra-cautious mom (Hawn) to accompany her on a vacation to Ecuador.

“At Emily’s insistence, the pair seek out adventure, but suddenly find themselves kidnapped. When these two very different women are trapped on this wild journey, their bond as mother and daughter is tested and strengthened while they attempt to navigate the jungle and escape.”

Given that Schumer and screenwriter Dippold are – how to put this diplomatically – divisive figures in modern comedy, we suspect some readers will not greet these trailers too enthusiastically. Both seem to promise the kind of dirty, booze and sex-fueled comedy that’s largely standard these days.

However, given that Hawn hasn’t made a movie since 2002’s ‘The Banger Sisters,’ we’d have to assume there was something special about the project for it to lure her out of semi-retirement.

We’ll see when ‘Snatched’ opens in UK cinemas on 12 May 2017.
