A Mayfair gallery has joined a popular Norwegian artist to launch an online auction in aid of our Food For London Now appeal partner, The Felix Project.

Readers have until December 1 to bid for a personalised oil portrait by Henrik Uldalen in the auction which is estimated to raise £10,000 for Felix.

The JD Malat Gallery, which is known for its contemporary art, will donate all proceeds of the auction to Felix, which collects and delivers nutritious surplus food to vulnerable people across the country.

Throughout lockdown the charity has also worked with the Standard to deliver thousands of hot meals to the homeless with our state-of-the-art trucks as part of our campaign to end food poverty.

Uldalen told the Standard: “To be able to contribute to a kinder society is an honour.“

All I can wish for is that the campaign helps protect and nurture the defenceless.”

Let’s Feed London Now!

Together with our sister title The Independent, we will be delivering food directly to 1,000 Londoners a day through our partner With Compassion. Please donate here to help ensure no Londoner goes hungry this Christmas.

Jean-David Malat, founder of the gallery, added: “It is terrible that there are children and vulnerable people without food.

“We want to help ensure that disadvantaged children and homes in the UK have the resilience, hope and happiness that we wish for our own families.”
