20th Century Fox has responded to the sexual abuse allegations against ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ director Bryan Singer.

According to a lawsuit filed in a US court, the 48-year-old filmmaker has been accused of using his influence, drugs and alcohol to force sex on a teenage boy in the late 1990s. The plaintiff, Michael F. Egan III, claims that he was not the only underage boy who was abused.

While speculation has questioned Singer’s continued involvement in the studio’s high-profile franchise, a representative for Fox released a statement to The Wrap, which read: "These are serious allegations, and they will be resolved in the appropriate forum.

"This is a personal matter, which Bryan Singer and his representatives are addressing separately."

Earlier this week, Singer’s lawyer Marty Singer said the claims were “completely without merit,” adding: "We are very confident that Bryan will be vindicated in this absurd and defamatory lawsuit. It is obvious that this case was filed in an attempt to get publicity at the time when Bryan's new movie is about to open in a few weeks."

Egan’s attorney Jeff Herman has warned that he’s planning to file more Hollywood lawsuits in the coming weeks.

“I'm going to file three more lawsuits Monday in Hawaii alleging three other Hollywood insiders who were participating in the abuses of Mike Egan… did the trips to Hawaii and he was abused there as well,” Herman told the website.

“I've been contacted by other victims who were alleging they were abused by other Hollywood industry people, completely unrelated to Mike's case.”
