Uber-producer Frank Marshall has promised ‘Back To The Future’ will not be remade or rebooted as long as he has any involvement.

Speaking to Yahoo Movies to promote the DVD and Blu-ray release of ‘Jason Bourne’ (out now) Marshall – who acted as executive producer on all three ‘Back To The Future’ movies – promised us “we’re never touching those” when asked if the beloved time-travel franchise was safe from Hollywood’s rebooting drive.

“Yeah [we won’t reboot ‘Back To The Future’], as long as I have my say. No, that one exists just like ‘E.T.’ – we’re never touching those. I love watching it. But how about we almost got the Chicago Cubs victory right?!”

‘Back To The Future Part II’ famously predicted a World Series win for the Chicago Cubs in 2015, a feat they managed against all odds in 2016 – one year out.

This echoes the sentiments of the trilogy’s screenwriter Bob Gale. Back in 2014 he told Yahoo Movies that ‘Back To The Future 4’ was out of the question.

“Let’s face it, we’ve seen a lot of sequels that are made years and years later and I don’t think I can name one that’s any good,” Gale said. “That lives up to the originals. I don’t think you can recapture it.”
