Freaky Friday's Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan reunite to tease sequel
Freaky Friday co-stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan have reunited to tease their long-awaited sequel.
The duo posed together on Instagram on Friday (March 29) with a message promising the sequel is on the way, writing: "DUH! FFDEUX!"
The Instagram post tagged Disney and its subsidiary Walt Disney Studios, so it looks like production is finally gearing up for Freaky Friday 2.
Last year, it was reported that both actresses were on board for a sequel. Deadline now reports that And Just Like That...'s Nisha Ganatra will direct from a script by Jordan Weiss (Dollface).

The two actresses have long campaigned for Disney to make Freaky Friday 2, with Oscar winner Curtis saying last year that the project was closer than ever to being a reality.
"It’s going to happen. Without saying there’s anything officially happening, I’m looking at you in this moment and saying, ‘Of course it’s going to happen.’ It’s going to happen," Curtis told Variety.
Lohan is having a career renaissance, having recently cameoed in the Mean Girls remake and starring in her own Netflix romantic comedy, Irish Wish.
Irish Wish has a Freaky Friday-style plot where Lohan's character attends the wedding of her ex-boyfriend and best friend, only to switch places with the bride due to a wish.
The actress has another starring Netflix role on the way in Our Little Secret, a romantic comedy about two bitter exes forced to spend Christmas together.
Curtis remains busy following her Academy Award win for Everything Everywhere All at Once, with upcoming roles in the Borderlands movie and Pamela Anderson's comeback project The Last Showgirl.
The original Freaky Friday was released in 2003, where it made more than $160 million at the worldwide box office. Curtis earned a Golden Globe nomination for the film.
