'Frozen II' has the biggest ever opening weekend for an animated film
The long-awaited Frozen II has landed in cinemas in the UK, a full six years after the first movie became the biggest animated film of all time.
And thanks to a sterling turnout worldwide over the weekend, Frozen II has already nabbed some records of its own.
It made $127 million - £98.6 million - over the weekend in the US, convincingly beating its predecessor's haul of $93 million in 2013, and bursting through analysts predictions of $100 million.

Making just over $350 million (£271 million) worldwide overall, it makes it the biggest ever global opening for an animated movie, though its domestic US figure fell just behind that of Incredibles 2.
It’s also the biggest opening for an animated movie ever in the UK, having made £15.07 million over its first three days on release.
This means that it's putting Disney on track for six billion dollar movies this year, alongside Aladdin, Avengers: Endgame, Captain Marvel, Toy Story 4 and The Lion King.
It's the first studio to ever reach such a box office landmark.
Upcoming is Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which will likely make over a billion dollars, but with a release date in late December (December 19 in the UK, December 20 worldwide), it likely won't pull in those numbers before December 31.

But while Frozen II aims to be bringing in record earnings, it's not quite proved as popular as the first movie with the critics.
Though bowing to generally decent reviews, it sits with a Metacritic score of 65 (compared to 74 for the original), and a Rotten Tomatoes score of 75, compared to 90 for the first movie.
It finds sisters Anna and Elsa travelling north, leaving the kingdom of Arrendelle, to discover the origins of Elsa's magic powers.
It's out now across the UK.
