Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke stars in trailer for supernatural horror Voice from the Stone

Not content with her starring role in the highly-anticipated seventh season of ‘Game of Thrones’ later this year, Emilia Clarke will also be returning to the big screen.

She stars in ‘Voice from the Stone’, a supernatural thriller you can get a feel for in the creepy first trailer.

The film, adapted from Silvio Raffo’s book of the same name, is about Clarke’s character Verena, a nurse hired to help a young boy called Jakob (Edward Dring) who has not spoken since the death of his mother nearly a year prior.

Verena enters into a relationship with the boy’s father (Marton Csokas), which keeps her around the family’s manor house in 1950s Tuscany.

Obviously everything is not all that it seems. As the official synopsis says: “Jakob not only refuses to speak, he seems to be under the spell of a malevolent force trapped within the stone walls.

“As Verena’s relationship with the father and son grow, she becomes ensnared and consumed by Malvina’s severe force. If she is to save the boy, and free herself, she must face the phantom hidden inside the stone.”

Expect jump scares.

Director Eric Howell described it as a “Hitchcockian fairy tale,” speaking to USA Today.

‘Voice from the Stone’ will be released in the US on 28 April in cinemas and on video-on-demand services. It’s not clear what the film’s release plans are for the UK.
