Game Of Thrones Season 6 Teaser: ‘They Have No Idea What’s Going To Happen’

HBO has released the first teaser trailer for the sixth season of ‘Game of Thrones’, and there’s no prizes for guessing who it focuses on.

Fans have been debating for months whether Kit Harington’s character Jon Snow will survive the events of the season five finale, and the teaser offers no further clues.

“They have no idea what’s going to happen,” states Isaac Hempstead Wright’s Bran at the end of the tease, which begins with a shot of Snow from season five and then cycles through many of series’ most notable deaths.

The line is also teasing the fact that season six of the award-winning show will mark the point at which the series overtakes the beloved George RR Martin books upon which it is based.

This is preceded at the start of the trailer by a different character (possibly a new one played by Max Von Sydow) saying: “The past is already written. The ink is dry.” Nope, still no clearer.

Neither fans of the series, nor of the books, know what will happen. They don’t know whether the series will forge ahead with its own story either, or whether it will stick to Martin’s plans for book 6: ‘The Winds Of Winter’.

In late November the first poster for the returning series was released featuring Jon Snow with blood on his face and no immediate signs of life.

Characters we do know will be back include the very much alive Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lanister, Lena Headey as Cersei Lannister and Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen.

‘Game of Thrones’ returns to HBO and Sky Atlantic next April.
