Game of Thrones star Nathalie Emmanuel has landed her next lead movie role in The Killer, an upcoming remake of John Woo's 1989 action film of the same name.

According to Deadline, the actress will star opposite previously announced cast member Omar Sy, though their exact roles are being kept under wraps for the time being.

Woo's original film follows an assassin, who takes one last job in order to pay for a nightclub singer's sight-restoring surgery after he accidentally blinds her.

While details for the remake's plot are yet to be disclosed, Woo will return to direct from a script written by Matthew Stuecken, 10 Cloverfield Lane's Josh Campbell, Eran Creevy and Brian Helgeland.

The movie is reportedly one of three Universal originals set to premiere on Peacock this year.

Emmanuel, who's best known for playing Missandei on Game of Thrones, is next set to star in Francis Ford Coppola's upcoming sci-fi epic Megalopolis, which follows an architect who wants to rebuild New York City into a utopia after a disaster destroys it.

The stacked cast also includes Zendaya, Adam Driver, Shia LaBeouf, Dustin Hoffman, Forest Whitaker, Aubrey Plaza, Jon Voight and Laurence Fishburne.

Fans will be able to see Emmanuel reprise her role as Ramsey in Fast X this May – and she's teased that the stakes are higher than ever before.

"Just the general stakes are higher on a more personal level in this one," she told ComicBook.com last year.

"Can you top going to space? I don't know, but I think the stakes for this family are just so much higher and so much more serious in this movie. So that's all I'm going to say because I don't want to get in trouble."

Fast X arrives in cinemas on May 19, 2023.
