The ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8, Episode 3 Pics Are Here & Wait, Do Tyrion & Varys Die First?

The Battle of Winterfell is nigh and thanks to these brand-new Game of Thrones pics from season eight, episode three, which airs this weekend, we have an idea of what might go down. We hate to say it, but all men must die, and chances are a lot of them will in this episode. Here, six photos from the forthcoming Battle of Winterfell.

Ser Brienne of Tarth & Ser Jaime Lannister Holding Down the Front Line

It’s go-time and Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) have their sister swords at the ready. But wait, is that Tormund (Kristofer Hivjubehind Brienne? So much for that Giantsbane nickname.

Jon Snow & Daenerys Targaryen Looking Over the Battle of Winterfell

For an evening, Khaleesi (Emilia Clarke) and the former King in the North (Kit Harington) must put their related differences aside to protect their armies and the people of Winterfell. Our guess is that this photo shows the duo plotting their plan of attack right before they hop on Drogon and Rhaegal and ride into battle.

Jon Snow Presumably Coming Face to Face with the Night King

He’s sweaty, he’s terrified, and he’s backlit by a ton of fire. All signs point to Jon facing off with the Night King (Vladimir Furdik)…or at least a horde of White Walkers.

Sansa Saying Goodbye to ARya

Thanks to Maisie Williams, we already know Arya will fight in the Battle of Winterfell (hopefully with her new weapon). The look on Sansa’s (Sophie Turner) face seems to communicate that she just realized Arya is seriously riding into battle. Will they ever see each other again?

Varys and Tyrion Passing Time in the Crypt

Daenerys decided in episode two that Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) and Varys (Conleth Hill) should remain in the crypts under the castle during the battle so they aren’t killed. That’s all good and fine, but a comment she made during the episode three teaser made us wonder if the crypts are the worst place they could be. In the clip, Dany tells Jon, “The dead are already here.” And where are there a bunch of dead people just waiting to be reanimated by a White Walker? The crypts. Dun, dun, dunnnnn.

Sansa Stark Mourning a Loss

Time will tell if it’s her former husband Tyrion, her crush Theon (Alfie Allen), the unlikely case of her sister Arya or her brother Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright), who’s posing as bait for the Night King.

The Battle of Winterfell begins and ends when Game of Thrones season eight, episode three airs this Sunday, April 28, at 9 p.m. PT/ET.
