After seven years on the BBC series, fan favourite pro Marquez was reported to be leaving the show after reaching the final three times, but so far failing to get the glitterball.
Reacting to the latest news stories, initially placed in The Sun newspaper, Atkinson shared an Instagram post to dispel further speculation, insisting he's not going anywhere.
"Keep being sent this. Wish I hasn’t said to all backstage crew 'see you next year' now," she wrote.
"Obvs this isn’t true at all! Same as it wasn’t true about Gio [Pernice] last year. Merry Christmas!"
Marquez stormed to the 2022 finals this year alongside celebrity partner Helen Skelton, with the pair some bookies' faves to take home the glitterball trophy.
However, they were pipped to the post in the viewers' vote, with Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystał being crowned this year's champions.
Hollyoaks star Atkinson and Marquez met through the series when she competed in the 2017 series, where she was paired with pro Aljaz Skorjanec.
The pair now have a daughter, three-year-old Mia, and got engaged on Valentine's Day 2021.
Marquez was reported to be leaving the show by The Sun, with a source saying: "Gorka has become an established figure in the contest and a name in his own right, which could allow him to go on to bigger things."
