Update: And it's here! Check out the official second trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife above.

The newest trailer follows in a similar vein to the original we saw released back in 2019.

It sees Callie (Carrie Coon) telling Mr Grooberson (Paul Rudd) about how her daughter Phoebe (McKenna Grace) has been struggling, before her son Trevor (Finn Wolfhard) comes across the infamous Ecto-1 and decides to drive it through a field. Because, why not?

It also gives us our much anticipated first glimpse at returnees Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray.

Original story: Ghostbusters: Afterlife star Dan Aykroyd has confirmed when the new trailer will arrive.

The reboot, which will hit cinemas this November after a string of coronavirus pandemic-related delays, dropped its first trailer way back in December 2019.

Reprising his role as Dr Raymond Stantz in the film and posting to Twitter, Aykroyd was one of the stars who confirmed the second trailer will finally drop later today (July 27).

"Something's coming," Aykroyd wrote next to a ghost and warning sign emoji.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife follows siblings Trevor (Finn Wolfhard) and Phoebe (Mckenna Grace), who move to a small farm in Oklahoma with their mother Callie (Carrie Coon) and discover their family is linked to the original Ghostbusters after a string of earthquakes in the area.

Directed by Jason Reitman, the film also stars Ant-Man's Paul Rudd as well as Ghostbusters legends Aykroyd, Bill Murray and Sigourney Weaver.

Images of Wolfhard and Grace wearing the classic Ghostbusters ensemble dropped earlier this year.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife will have no link whatsoever to the 2016 female-led reboot directed by Paul Feig.

That film starred Wonder Woman 1984's Kristen Wiig, Thor actor Chris Hemsworth, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife is out in cinemas on November 11, 2021.
