Get Ghostbusters' new Monopoly game ahead of new movie

From Digital Spy

When it comes to the ultimate Ghostbusters board game, who you gonna call? Monopoly, obvs!

Hasbro has given us versions of the classic game based around Game of Thrones, Friends and even Fortnite, so it was about time players had a chance to bust some ghosts while they desperately avoided going bankrupt.

In a brand new version of the game – which is up for pre-order now for $29.99 (£24.13) – players move around the board buying up contracts to track spooky spirits.

Whenever they land on a Spectral Entity space, players can team up to take down iconic Ghostbusters ghosts like Slimer, Stay Puft, the Library Ghost or Vinz Clortho in order to save New York City. And yes, of course there are Ghost Trap cards at play!

Ghostbusters Edition Monopoly Game is currently scheduled to be released in May, and again, can be pre-ordered through our friends at Entertainment Earth, who do ship internationally.

The game is being released to coincide with new sequel Afterlife, which is set 30 years after the second movie in the original series.

Callie (Fargo's Carrie Coon) and her two children, Phoebe (The Haunting of Hill House's Mckenna Grace) and Trevor (Stranger Things' Finn Wolfhard), reawaken the spirits from the past in Afterlife when they discover their family's link to the original Ghostbusters.

Surviving Ghostbusters stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts will all return for Afterlife, with original director Ivan Reitman's son Jason at the helm.

Last month, Finn Wolfhard promised Ghostbusters: Afterlife will be "faithful" to the original and "really funny".

Ghostbusters: Afterlife will be released in cinemas on March 5, 2021.
