R.L. Stine is back… with ‘Goosebumps: Horrorland’.

And it looks as though Jack Black is on board for the kids’ horror sequel.

According to the iconic author R.L. Stine, the upcoming sequel will be titled ‘Goosebumps: Horrorland’… and that might give us some idea what the movie is going to be about.

“Yes, there is a script for the Goosebumps movie sequel,” he revealed via Twitter. “I am told that my evil twin, Jack Black, has signed on. More news to come!”

And it sounds as though Jack Black isn’t the only one returning, as the author teased a comeback for his iconic creation, Slappy.

“The Goosebumps movie sequel is tentatively called Goosebumps Horrorland and is slated for September, 2018”, he added. “Watch out for Slappy!”

In fact, it’s tentatively scheduled for 21 September 2018.

Darren Lemke wrote the script with Deborah Forte and Neal H. Moritz returning to produce.

So, what’s it going to about?

Well, R.L. Stine’s ‘Horrorland’ books are set in a vast theme park of the same name, which the author describes as ‘the scariest place on earth’. Written ten years after the previous series the ‘Horrorland’ novels revitalised the ‘Goosebumps’ franchise… and now it looks as though the horrifying theme park will be making the jump to the big screen.

Will we see the likes of ‘Revenge of the Dummy’ or ‘Creep from the Deep’ factor into the plot?

For now, we’ll have to wait and see.

But it sounds as though Slappy is back.

‘Goosebumps: Horrorland’ stars Jack Black as R.L. Stine. No other cast members have been announced at this time.

Rob Letterman will direct, based on a script by Darren Lemke.

‘Goosebumps: Horrorland’ opens in cinemas on 21 September 2018.
