Police in Norfolk have launched an investigation following the discovery of two bodies inside a property on Tuesday evening.

Emergency services were called to an address in Oxford Avenue, Gorleston, soon after 7.30pm to a report of concern for a person's safety, Norfolk Constabulary said in a statement.

Officers forced their way inside the property and found the bodies in one room.

Police are currently treating the deaths of the two people – a man and a woman – as unexplained.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene, the force confirmed.

Neighbours described the woman as a “bubbly, funny, friendly person”.

One, who asked not to be named, said of the woman: “When I was going through down patches she used to make me laugh.”

Another said: “She was at a Slimming World group I went to and did really well. She did fantastically well, brilliantly well.

“I’m absolutely devastated.”

A marked police car remained outside the property on Wednesday, with floral tributes left on the path.
